A Wife’s Prayer

My name is Wilrien. I grew up in a loving, Christian home. I don’t recall a specific day that I gave my heart to the Lord, but I know that I have had a living relationship with the Father for as long as I can remember. At the age of 10 years, I had my first confirmation that God have heard every one of my prayers. I asked God for a puppy or a baby sister and a year later my mother fell pregnant with a baby girl!
I recently got married and would like to share the following testimony with you.
The Lord has abundantly blessed me with an amazing husband! We have been married for 3 weeks now. Two days before our wedding we received news that our Pastor was admitted to hospital with a severe viral infection. Praise the Lord for blessing us with THREE other pastors who were available and prepared to marry us, as well as for healing our pastor in the weeks after!
The Friday before the wedding, Werner, at the time still my fiancée, still had to work. As he left for work, I was prompted by Holy Spirit to pray specifically for his protection. 20 minutes later I received a phone call from Werner, saying that he was in a car accident, but that everything was OK. I wasn’t surprised by the call. I thanked Abba for speaking to me and asked for a speedy process at the scene, as we needed to be at the venue at 2o’clock that afternoon and Werner still had to work. Another 10 minutes passed and Werner phoned saying that the metro police saw the accident happen, said that he could go and that they would do the case statement for him. What a speedy process in the Name of Jesus! On top of that, his car had minimal scratches while the other car was written off!
When I think back about all the events in the week before the wedding, I am in awe by the peace and rest that Holy Spirit provided in each of my reactions. We praise God for his faithfulness and for how He speaks to us. We praise Him for a beautiful wedding of which I cannot even mention ONE thing that didn’t work out or that was worrying on the day.
May we always be obedient to His voice and react where- and whenever he puts something on our hearts. Thinking about the way I prayed for Werner when it was laid on my heart, I thank God for teaching me something so important on the day before our wedding: the power of prayer and more specifically the need and power of a wife praying for her husband and interceding for him daily.
All glory to our Father in heaven!! (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
