When we first discovered that our son Lehan had Propionic Acidemia, our world felt dark and uncertain. Doctors prepared us for the worst, and as parents we wrestled with fear, sleepless nights, and endless questions: Would he ever sit, crawl, walk, speak, or eat on his own? Could he live without constant hospital visits? How would we cope financially and emotionally? Yet in the midst of this, we turned to God, our Way Maker, Miracle Worker, and Promise Keeper.

We prayed and fasted, believing His Word: “I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1–2). We held onto Mark 11:24: “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” And we trusted Philippians 4:6–7: “Do not be anxious about anything… and the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Lehan underwent major surgeries, including the insertion of a feeding tube. We declared healing over his DNA and asked God to break the chains of this rare disease. There were moments of deep pain—watching him in NICU, nearly losing him to pneumonia at age three, and feeling helpless as a mother. My faith was shaken, and I even felt abandoned. Yet God spared him, and slowly I saw His hand of mercy. “He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).

Miracles unfolded: Lehan survived operations, his ammonia levels stabilized, and he began to thrive. He celebrated birthdays in health, started school, and grew stronger each day. What once seemed impossible became reality. On his first birthday, we bowed in gratitude, thanking Jesus that he was alive and smiling. On his second birthday, we rejoiced that he could attend school. By his third birthday, he was running, speaking, and playing like other children. Truly, God turned our ashes into a beautiful garden.

Looking back over four years, I can testify that the Lord has been faithful. “Now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face” (1 Corinthians 13:12). What was once darkness now shines with His light. He not only healed Lehan but also restored me—delivering me from fear and depression and making me whole so I could be the mother my son needs. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23).

Today, Lehan is a living testimony. He runs, speaks, plays, and loves school. He is proof that miracles still happen. And I too have been transformed—my life surrendered to Jesus; my heart filled with His peace. We give all glory to Him, for He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals. His resurrection power is alive in us, and His Spirit sustains us daily.

I can say with confidence: Jesus is alive, miracles are real, and His promises never fail. What began in darkness has become a story of light, hope, and victory. All glory belongs to Him forever.
