Good Morning my Picasso…

This Poem is about letting go of yourself and giving over to the creator, allowing God to control every aspect of your life including your body and mind. This poem exposes how it can be so easy to give your life to God. It’s like falling asleep and letting God break you and make you into what He has purposed you to be. It’s so amazing and beautiful to give into God’s embrace but it may come with the pain of breaking chains.

Why a Picasso Painting?

This came as a message from God on how, as humans, we really are a mess: crazy, different and complicated, but a form of art in His hand. This actually resembles a Picasso painting. It takes a special eye to see its beauty and above all, pay for it, as it is very precious and expensive. This is what Christ did for us on the cross. He paid a high price for our imperfect mess of a life.

Good Morning my Picasso

My canvas is a tsunami of colors.

I often mistake the torn edge of it for a wound

I helplessly allow his hands to splash and scratch effortlessly

I am his and surprisingly He long declared that.

The brash brings thoughts into art, art that needs

Patience, time and a special eye to notice this catastrophe

The rainbow stands no chance against my multicolored canvas

If something, His hands invented the rainbow.

A promise never to be broken.

I know this because his touch and whispers have proven to be Loyal.

I selflessly allow him to take over my canvas

Do to it what you only can do to it

The brush soon became harsh upon my skin.

It soon began to feel His emotions get poured on

Out from his very being.

So this is what it means to be given breath.

The sun begins to peek through the curtains

The morning has always loved to gloat about its glory

So was He this very early morning.

A few strokes of color and he shouted It Is Finished

He walked back to take a look at me

The new me that he had envisioned long before

My Invention on earth.

He knew that the earth would call me a Picasso

On this new day, he called me…My Picasso

  1. Thank you so much .Thinking of you too SM

  2. Love how God is so intimate in our lives and that we should not be afraid when it hurts because it is a part of relationship with God as He removes the old and replaces it with the new. Such a powerful poem. Thinking of you SM.

  3. Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
