I believe in the power of prayer. In my life there has been many times when I really needed God’s guidance to get me through tough times.
As a child and young girl, for more than 20 years, I remember praying for my Dad to stop drinking. At times I gave up and literally said to God: “Enough! I give up with Him, I will pray no more!!”
I believe that it is ok to be honest in our prayers, God knows how we feel, there is no need to hide it. We can honestly open up, share all our good and bad feelings and thoughts with God and get rid of a lot of heavy baggage that we find difficult to carry all alone.
Through all those years my Mom stood by him, never giving up, never stopping to plead with God to save him. The last 20 years of his life he was a recovered alcoholic, a wonderful father and grandfather. I believe my Mom’s prayers had a lot to do with that.
